There are still thousands of women and men who will face breast cancer

While the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still thousands of women and men who will face breast cancer.

Breast cancer doesn’t stop because there is a crisis in the world. We invite you to please consider continuing your fundraising. It is disappointing that we cannot celebrate together today, but our mission cannot be realized without the support of your fundraising. We accomplish our mission together.

While we might not be on-site as a community at Cranes Roost Park, you can create a community of your own through our online fundraising tools. Check out these tips to maximize your online fundraising:

  1. Customize your participant fundraising center so everyone knows why you support Susan G. Komen Florida. Sharing your story is a big indicator of fundraising success, so make sure to share the link to your participant center through social media and email.
  2. Make sure you have activated your Facebook fundraiser through your participant center. Just login to your fundraising center at the top of this page and click the “Start a Facebook fundraiser” link. Make sure you invite your Facebook friends to your fundraiser and reshare often!
  3. Get creative! We know you may need to change your fundraising plans, but now is a great time to be creative with how you’ll hit your goal.

Susan G. Komen Florida takes the health and safety of our supporters very seriously.  We are closely monitoring the current state of cases found across the U.S. and here in our community. As such, Susan G. Komen Florida has suspended all events and activities that could create an added risk. Our patient navigators who work closely to assist women and men in their time of need, will be available by phone and our education programs will be available via video conference. We remain committed to those touched by breast cancer now and in the future. If you are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Updates will be posted regularly on our website at komenflorida.org. For information on staying safe and limiting the spread of this virus, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/high-risk-complications.html.

We are grateful for your continued support of Susan G. Komen Florida and our work to reduce breast cancer deaths and fund research to find a cure. As soon as we have further information we will let you know.
