9 Years and Counting

In November 2004, I went for a follow-up mammogram. The surgeon found a cancerous lump in my left breast which hadn’t been there 4 months prior. Due to my family history and the fast growing nature of my cancer, they recommended I have a mastectomy.

My cancer diagnosis and treatment were quite traumatic for me and my family; however, it was nothing compared to the breast cancer diagnosis of my 32 year old daughter almost 2 years ago.
