Komen Scholar: Dr. Ben Ho Park

Dr. Ben Ho Park is the Donna S. Hall Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also Co-Leader of the Breast Cancer Research Program, Director of Precision Oncology, and Associate Director for Translational Research at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Dr. Park’s research focuses on using genetic models to identify, validate, and develop targeted therapies for breast cancer. With Komen funding, Dr. Park is developing a precision oncology approach to target mutations on a gene called SF3B1, which is only present in cancer cells. The goal of this work is to develop new therapies for patients with SF3B1 mutations. Dr. Park has been a Komen Scholar since 2017.
