Komen Scholar: Dr. Kathy Miller
Dr. Kathy Miller, Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine focuses on testing new therapies for breast cancer patients through clinical trials. Her Komen-funded project uses a unique physical training technique, called low-intensity vibration (LIV), to expand the understanding of the benefit of exercise for breast cancer patients. Specifically, the technique, originally for astronauts, measures muscle function and bone/muscle quality in post-menopausal women starting aromatase inhibitor therapy. She has been a Komen Scholar since 2010.
