Janie Copes

Janie is grateful for the support she received from friends and from the Cancer Center in Stuart. She describes the nurses, doctors, and radiologists as “amazing,” making her feel like she could conquer anything that cancer threw at her. Everyone she met there, including other patients, were inspirational and supportive. The medical staff, her friends, family and were very instrumental—along with her own desire—to get back to her normal life. She couldn’t wait to get back on the tennis court with her friends!

She has guided several friends and a relative diagnosed with breast cancer through the process, sharing her experiences and some of the literature she received from the Cancer Center. She hopes to continue to be an inspiration to others by sharing her journey and her expertise in any way she can.

Janie’s husband, Dave, along with her brother and his family and her niece were there for her and always positive.

Tennis and Zumba. She is the past president of the Woman’s Club of Stuart and still remain on the board as an active member. She is also a model for the Shoppes at Harbour Bay and works on the committee for the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk in Stuart.

“I am most thankful that my cancer was discovered early and that I had great care and that I am loving life each and every day with my husband, friends and family!”
