One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In Florida, 13,728 women are diagnosed and 2,704 women lose their battle each year. On behalf of the women (and men) of Florida, we ask you to join us in the fight against breast cancer by participating in Downtowns Go Pink this October. Restaurants and shops lining the avenues of our cities and towns will become destination hotspots by offering special promotions to raise funds for state-wide, life-saving breast cancer programs and research. You can promote your business while you support those in Florida in need of our services. Downtowns Go Pink will recognize your support throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Komen Florida has invested nearly $57 million in community-based breast health programs, providing care for the local women and men who need it. To date, the organization has invested $6.31M for treatment assistance, $15.42M for research against the deadliest forms of the disease – including a new, special focus on metastatic breast cancer, $26.12M for screening, and $9.03M for education. In 2018, Komen Florida launched a new program to eliminate barriers to care and provide access to critical services, including navigation services, financial assistance, and psychosocial support programs. Will join us in the fight against this disease?
How it works: Along with other businesses and restaurants, we ask you to pledge a tax-deductible donation to Susan G. Komen. Whether you are able to offer a percentage of your daily/nightly sales or a flat amount, even one dollar per drink, we deeply appreciate your financial support and we’ll show it!
Community-wide recognition: Susan G. Komen Florida will publicize the event through a multi-media effort, including e-marketing, social media, and our website. Your logo will be featured on e-blasts distributed to more than 58,000 Komen Florida supporters. We invite you to place our flyers in your business and on your social media platforms to show your support and encourage shoppers to visit you during the month-long event.
Known as the first responders to breast cancer, Komen Florida saves lives by ensuring support for women and men who have nowhere else to turn. When you participate in Komen’s Downtowns Go Pink, you can boost your business, connect with the breast cancer community and know you are helping to find a cure.
Download the participation agreement form and please complete and return no later than September 20, 2019 to be included in our promotional efforts. It would be our privilege to partner with your business. Together, we can make the 3rd Annual Downtowns Go Pink a success that saves lives.
If you or your company would like to consider other ways of supporting Susan G. Komen Florida, we would love to meet with you to explore opportunities, including forming a team and becoming a sponsor of the Race for the Cure.
