Komen Scholar: Dr. David Mankoff

Dr. David Mankoff, the Gerd Muehllehner Professor and Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, specializes in molecular`imaging and how it can be used in breast cancer. With funding from Komen, he uses Positron Emission Tomography/Computerized Tomography (PET/CT) to measure breast cancer metabolism in patients and predict tumor behavior and response to targeted cancer therapy. The goal of his work is to help guide treatment decisions and to identify and overcome resistance to therapy. Dr. Mankoff has been a Komen Scholar since 2012.
