Breast cancer treatment bills filed in Tallahassee

Thank you to State Representative Kamia Brown, Senator Debbie Mayfield, State Senator Lori Berman, Representative Jackie Toledo, and State Representative Dianne Hart for filing the companion legislation to reduce barriers for women and men to receive additional diagnostic testing needed to detect potential cancer. House Bill 263, also known as the Advanced Breast Care and Diagnostic Bill, will have certain diagnostic tests prescribed by a healthcare provider post mammography screening to be at an equal rate as the mammogram. Representative Brown has also filed House Bill 261 for step therapy which allows a patient to take the drugs prescribed immediately rather than going through the fail-first protocol.
