Palm Beach Post–Thousands Will Paint the Town Pink

Running along the Intracoastal, thousands strong, they’ll dress in many shades of pink — salmon and cerise, magenta and mauve — but they’ll share a single purpose: Raising money for breast cancer research.

The Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure, now in its 23rd year, will color downtown West Palm Beach pink Saturday morning.

An estimated 15,000 survivors and their supporters participated in last year’s event, and organizers are hoping 20,000 will turn out this year to walk and run along Flagler Drive — and raise $2 million for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
