August 15, 2012

Since 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has invested more than $1.9 billion to fight breast cancer, and to save lives and end the disease by empowering people, ensuring quality care and energizing science to find the cures.

This year, the South Florida Affiliate awarded $1.3 million in grants to help uninsured and underinsured women with detection, care and treatment.

Marion Pollock, 34, a native of Boynton Beach and a nail tech at the Hunters Run community, is one of the women helped by the Komen Foundation.
