The Palm Beach Post–Non-profit builds homes in Palm Beach Gardens to benefit cancer charity

With a half-finished dream home in the background, custom home builder Brett Handler and Susan G. Komen South Florida administrators celebrated their charity partnership with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Old Palm Golf Club Thursday afternoon.

Handler, founder of Palm Beach Gardens-based Dreamstar Custom Homes, created the nonprofit organization Build for the Cure three years ago in an effort to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research.The organization builds custom homes — one has been completed so far, with the Old Palm home scheduled to be finished in November — to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure South Florida.
