97.9 WRMF’s KVJ Show to serve as Grand Marshals for 2018 Race for the Cure® Team Walk
Susan G. Komen® South Florida announced today that WRMF 97.9’s KVJ Show co-hosts, Kevin, Virginia, and Jason, will serve as Grand Marshals for the Team Walk at the Race for the Cure on January 27, 2018 in West Palm Beach. The KVJ Show has supported the Race in the past, and Virginia has openly shared her story about her mother as a breast cancer survivor.
The Race for the Cure Team Walk is a celebration of families, friends, and businesses coming together to remember those lost, or to honor their survivors, as they collectively raise funds for Komen South Florida. The KVJ Show is forming its own “Volunteer Army Team” for the Race, open to all who want to register and join [CLICK HERE TO JOIN].
“Advocating for better breast health was so important to me and my family when it came to my mom being able to survive her breast cancer,” said Virginia Sinicki, co-host. “That’s why the Race is so important to us. It’s a beautiful thing to see the survivors and realize that you’re making a difference. Cancer is a horrible a thing, but thanks to Komen, we are seeing fewer lives lost, and celebrating more people surviving than ever before.”
The Race for the Cure® is one of the largest movements across the country and raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The event celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Runners, walkers, corporate and community teams and individuals of all ages are welcome to join the celebration that is so much more than a 5K, and show why they are committed to be More Than Pink™, a movement that highlights the people who act, donate and get involved to help Komen achieve its Bold Goal to reduce the nation’s 40,000 cancer deaths by 50% by 2026.
